Revisiting the root

The journey began with a trip to my late grandfather’s workplace. My heart pounded hard, filled with excitements to tell my team about the stories of my growing days. Unfortunately, nearly everything physical was gone. Modern development took place by destroying the old for new constructions. What was left was my late grandfather’s good friend, a 90-year-old old man, who tried to show us how they did it back in their younger days.

With the limited resources that we could pull out from the venue and the living heritage, we managed to extract what we have gathered from the visit and put them together to create a trial piece. We called it “Hello! Nuts”, and we have showcased it at the Dance Box - July 2017 as well as in Dancing in Place – City site 2017.

Things slowly fall into place and that was how Your Memory Our Identity took form.
