Thank you

Updated: Jun 18, 2021

A "Thank You" is barely enough to express our gratitude.

Along with the final sharing of our YMOI production, which took place last year, we from JinnD Productions, especially me, would like to take this opportunity to express my gratefulness to all, be it the organisations, party or individuals who have contributed in one way or another, to the success of this project.

There would be no YMOI without your courtesy and kindness, and so I wish to make it an official statement and announcement to personally thank the following names myself - your gesture meant so much to the production.

The Main Funder of the Project - Think City Butterworth

Being the main sponsor, Think City Butterworth has been the biggest supporter of the project. It has not only allowed us to create an art piece but also given us the opportunity to envision a positive future that we could probably realise together.

The members of the staff at the Think City have been resourceful and helpful, particularly Nicole Thum and Daniel Tan who have been kind and generous in providing the necessary information and support.

The Coordinator for Butterworth Fringe Festival 2018 - Gaik Cheng Koe & team

Much of the preparation of YMOI would be tougher if it was not for the assistance from Ms Gaik Cheng and her team. She has been a very helpful person throughout the time prior to the festival and we could not thank her and her team enough for their attentiveness and patience.

INXO Arts Fund 藝件事

INXO Arts Fund was the first funding we received for the project. We would not be anywhere we reached later without the monetary support and the access to their space for our rehearse and showed our first work-in-progress sharing in Klang Valley. Thank you INXO Arts Fund for trusting in us and in our project.

The Lighting & Designing Team for Silent Witness - Robin Tan & Joie Koo

Designing and installing lighting for a site-specific exhibition and performance is a challenging task especially the structure of the site and the uncertainty of power supply.

With the undivided attention and focus that both gentlemen have poured into setting up the site for the project, where Joie set his mesmerising lighting design for both "Silent Witness" and "Shou" and Robin's help on the mounting of lighting, I was able to gain invaluable amounts of exposure and knowledge.

Thanks to their selfless sharing of experience and perspectives, I have got my horizon about lighting design broadened tremendously.

Hin Bus Depot

Having a performance space for sufficient rehearsal is a blessing.

With that being said, the production was blessed to have the time and space to practice prior to the conduct of work-in-progress sharing, in conjunction with the opening ceremony of the REKA exhibition. Our team was given the opportunity to present, meet and interact with the local community and artists, which was totally a priceless but valuable experience to our artists.

On top of that, our sincere gratitude goes out to Khing and Wanida. Both of them were totally awesome in providing every possible assistance I needed since the first day of our meeting.

They coordinated the whole residency schedule and programme, right from accommodation, site-specific performance, work-in-progress sharing, publicity, marketing up until every other detail that we asked for. They discussed the individual pieces and shared with us their viewpoints, they even met with the patrons and audience for the sharing of comments. We were deeply moved by their dedication and contribution in making the event a big success.

Blue House & Carbon Art Space

The hospitality from both Blue House & Carbon Art Space was phenomenal during the residency at Hin Bus. The spaces offered wonderful vibes to our artists and we were able to perform better because of the energy.

Casa Ninda & C-Section

From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the production, thank you for the amazing stay and experience.

Our heartiest gratitude to Mr Zaini who had provided us with the residency space at the C-Section Art Space, as well as the courtesy in offering our performers and international guest artist the beautiful homestay called Casa Ninda in Butterworth.

The opportunity to connect with the community via arts was incredible and the good vibe and support from the team, including Hizal, Hairi, Mia and Sofie will forever be in our hearts

Rimbun Dahan

A dear and supportive friend, Bilqis Hijjas, is one of the supports that has made YMOI a memorable part. She has provided us with a space to rehearse and residency at Rimbun Dahan. I cannot thank her enough for all the help and guidance throughout my creative journey.

Front of House - Brian Chua, Founder of RuShine YogArt Space

What have I done to deserve the kindness of his, who drove all the way to Butterworth from Perak just to take over the position as the Front of House? Brian has been a great friend of mine, who had helped me in more ways than I could possibly imagine. Thank you so much for your friendship, and for being there when I needed it the most.

There are still more that I wish to thank but no words could possibly express my gratitude and there are too many names I wish to mention. The event would not be possible without you. Yes you, that I probably did not manage to include in this statement but you are in my heart. Thank you all, for everything along the way. Thank you for the kind words, inspirations, thoughtful wishes and love.

Art is never an easy path and doing art is never an easy task, but it got easier because I received all the help I could get from you all.
